Insecurity: NAF Strikes Kill Terrorists, Bandits in Borno, Kwara, Katsina, Others

Numerous Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists were killed by a series of precision airstrikes carried out by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in the Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram regions of Borno State as part of the NAF's increased nationwide counterterrorism and counterbanditry operations.
This occurred as members of the FCT Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit conducted a special church patrol in forests and border communities connecting Bwari in Kaduna State, Bwari in Niger State, and Gwagwalada, also in Niger State, in collaboration with Department of State Services (DSS) employees, local hunters, and vigilante groups.
At least four nursing mothers were reportedly abducted by bandits yesterday in Yan Kwada village, Faruruwa community, in the Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.
Additionally, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has ordered a manhunt for the gunmen who attacked residents of the Sarkin Noma community in the Keana Local Government Area at midnight, promising to bring the perpetrators to justice as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Dr. Nasir Idris, the governor of Kebbi State, boasted yesterday that not a single square inch of his state was occupied by armed bandits.
In a similar vein, the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP), Jam'at Ahl as-Sunna lid-Da'wa wa'l-Jihd (JAS), and Boko Haram factions engaged in a deadly battle at Toumbun Gini, an island community in Borno State's Abadam Local Government Area, that left over 100 people dead.
"The coordinated missions, executed on November 9, 2025, represent a decisive phase in ongoing joint operations under Operation Hadin Kai and Operation Fasan Yamma, aimed at degrading terrorist and criminal networks across Nigeria's northern theatres," stated Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, who made these announcements yesterday.
